Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar, a British American musician and sitarist, is most well-known for her musical talents. She is the youngest woman and was the first person to be awarded an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar, a young emerging singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is a student and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her early years of her life traveling between London and New Delhi. At the age of 13 the first time she performed in New Delhi took place. Then the same year, in Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in the year 1999. The career of Anouskha as a performer and recorder is remarkable, even at her age. Her father has been with her to numerous performances over some time. She released her first self-titled album Anourag in the year 1998. Two years later she released the Grammy nominated album Live on stage at Carnegie Hall. Alongside performing at every major venue and venues, she also is a stage performer for a lengthy time. The career of Anoushka doesn't only comprise the world of music. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 book, which was a tribute Ravi Shankar. In 2003 she starred as an Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka was raised in England, but spent most of her childhood split between London in the UK and Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and enrolled in the high school there. She started learning to play the guitar at the age nine and played the sitar in celebration of the 75th anniversary her father's birth in Delhi just four years after. Anoushka has gained lots of experience touring around the globe with her dad. She performed at Carnegie Hall in her teenage time, and also recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. In recognition of being an outstanding musician in the field of Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
